The Asian Art Dealers New York (AADNY) is pleased to present thirty-one unique exhibitions opening concurrently at galleries throughout Manhattan for Asia Week New York, 2010. Commencing on March 20 - 21, these coordinated exhibitions mark the first time a group of international dealers has collaborated to stage an event of this magnitude. Leading dealers from England, France, Italy and Japan join their American colleagues in presenting rare and museum-quality works of art to collectors, curators, and scholars who converge annually in New York to see the very best Asian art on offer.
First organized with sixteen dealers in 2009, AADNY has grown significantly and includes members who have been pre-eminent in their respective fields for decades. The 31 dealers specialize in a wide range of disciplines, appealing to many collecting tastes. Dealer-run and self vetted, AADNY includes experts in ancient through contemporary Chinese, Chinese, Indian, Himalayan, Southeast Asian, Japanese, Contemporary Japanese, and Korean art.
In step with other institutions in the Asian art field, AADNY’s goal is to revitalize Asia Week New York as a leading destination for Asian art enthusiasts worldwide, with a solid week of activities for collectors, curators, and connoisseurs. In celebration of Asia Week 2010, AADNY honors the Rubin Museum of Art and its Co-Founders Donald Rubin and Shelley F. Rubin. The Rubin Museum of Art opened in 2004 and holds one of the world’s most important collections of art from the countries and cultures of the Himalayas, including Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia, and Bhutan.
AADNY members look forward to welcoming you to our galleries and to sharing our knowledge and the extraordinary works of art on view for this very exciting week.
